This book has been created by including some articles written on the deities specific to the Tamil people along with articles related to aspects of Tamil socio-cultural aspects. These articles, written on the basis of the field research of Professor T. Paramasivan, who concludes that 'a culture cannot be studied without talking about the deities', are entirely about folk deities and festivals. In addition, some articles that help to understand the history of Tamil socio-cultural history are also included in this collection.
