* “Jeeva was a member of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from 52 to 57. Poet Jeeva Bharathi has compiled the speeches that Jeeva made there and published them as a book titled ‘Jeeva in the Legislative Assembly’. Just by reading this one book, you can understand Jeeva’s greatness. During this period, neither DMK nor Annadurai went to the Legislative Assembly. At that time, Jeeva spoke that Tamil should be the official language in the Legislative Assembly. The first voice that was heard in the Legislative Assembly for the Tamil language was Jeeva’s voice. * Jeeva did not only clamor for Tamil to be included as the language of instruction and the language of the courts; Jeeva also insisted that if a case goes to the Supreme Court from Tamil Nadu, the verdict of that case should be given in Tamil. Pavendar Bharathidasan considered Tamil as his soul.
