Lenin led a fierce struggle for the correct political organizational principles at the Second Congress of the Russian Communist Party (then known as the Russian Social Democratic Workers' Party). The congress revealed the split between the two trends within the party. Lenin's work One Step Forward, Two Steps Back is included in this volume.
