* The third volume of Marx and Engels' Selected Works contains three wonderful books. They are The Class Struggles in France, The Eighteenth Brumaire of Louis Bonaparte, and Revolution and Counter-Revolution in Germany. In addition, two articles have been added at the end of the collection. All three books deal with the popular uprisings towards radical social changes that took place in the central years of the century in two Western European countries. The bourgeoisie, which was the vanguard class of that time, the historically politically active working class, and the numerically larger peasantry in those countries played an important role in these revolutions. * All three books in this volume are very important for Marxists. In these books, Marx and Engels have depicted with epic flavor the events that took place with the participation of the masses in two countries located in the center of Europe, in the years 1848-52, and which had many turning points. It was around 1848 that Marx and Engels passed their youth and arrived at their formulated policy positions called Marxism. It is a great historical occasion that they encountered the practical form of a theory that they had formulated as "social revolution" from almost the same year in France and Germany. It must be said that they not only encountered the revolution in reality, but also realized the political behavior of various classes that were engaged in the unexpected turning points of the revolution.
